Jeff Wiggins, right, Kentucky Labor 2007 Zone One coordinator, gives last minute instructions to volunteers for the Paducah Labor-to-Labor Walk on Sept. 29.
Thirty-four volunteers, most of them sporting yellow Kentucky Labor 2007 tee shirts, fanned out across the city, visiting union households and urging support for Steve Beshear, the Democratic candidate for governor, and the other labor-endorsed candidates in the Nov. 6 election. The volunteers represented several different unions and union retiree groups in Western Kentucky. "It was great to see so many union members come out and work for our candidates on a beautiful Saturday morning," Wiggins said. "This is what union solidarity is all about." Wiggins is also president of the Paducah-based Western Kentucky Area Council, AFL-CIO, and a member of the Kentucky State AFL-CIO Executive Board. (Photo by BERRY CRAIG)
